Delhi boasts of a wonderful amalgamation of ancient history and modern lifestyle. The culture carries influences of different rulers who lived and built beautiful monuments here. Being a cosmopolitan city you see people from different states and parts of world living here and celebrating all festivals with lot of enthusiasm and zeal. The Mughal rulers have deeply influenced the the food habits of residents and it is here that Mughlai cuisine originated. Old Delhi is like a maze of small lanes and old buildings whereas you can see signs of growth and development in New Delhi.
Early next day, you will be taken to Jaipur by road. The distance to be covered is 274 kms and it will roughly take 5 to 6 hrs to reach Jaipur. Jaipur, is popularly refered to as as ‘the pink city’. There are several captivating palaces to see in Jaipur. Way back in the 18th century when Prince of Wales visited Jaipur, the whole city was painted in pink hue. Jaipur was built by Rajput ruler Maharaja Jai Singh so the city has both Rajputana and Mughal influences. The day can be spent visiting popular monuments and famous Jaipur bazaars. You must try finger licking authentic Rajasthani food at famous street food joints. Overnight stay is in Jaipur.
The morning you can proceed to visit Amer fort also referred to as Amer Palace. This spectacular fort is constructed in marble and red sandstone. The main entrance gate of the fort has beautiful architecture.
In Jaipur you can visit the well known Maharaja City Palace, which is royal palace comprising of seven storeys. You must also visit Jantar Mantar, which is an observatory. This observatory is flanked by mathematicians and astronomers from across the globe. City palace is an amalgamation of all three styles of architecture i.e. Mughal, European and Rajput. Another well known tourist spot in Jaipur is Hawa Mahal. This is known for its superb architecture.
Commencing your trip to Jaipur, we then take you to Fatehpur Sikri, a small city situated on western side of Agra. It was founded by Mughal Emperor in 16th Century and is a stunning example for beautiful Mughal architecture. Buland Darwaza, entrance to prominent Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chishti, Diwan-e-Khaas Hall and Jodha Bai’s Palace are some of Fatehpur Sikri’s important landmarks. Day ends by reaching Agra city.
Agra is the capital of Hindustan of the Mughals. It is a key tourist destination and an integral part of Golden Traingle Tour comprising of Delhi and Jaipur. Agra was also referred to as Akbarabad when it was under the reign of Mughals. In the morning you can visit Taj Mahal, which is one of the seven wonders. This magnificent building is made with white marble. It is located on banks of Yamuna River. Taj Mahal is not open for public viewing on Fridays.
On the 6th day you will be transferred from Agra to Delhi airport right on time so that you catch your return flight. Most of the flights depart after midnight, so accommodation is not given in Delhi. Depart for the journey to your final destination.
